WBO Has Ordered Arnold Barboza vs Jose Ramirez With Conditions;Lopez & Haney have Deadlines

After Teofimo Lopez defeated Josh Taylor for the WBO Junior Welterweight title on June 10th he immediately announced his retirement. WBO accepted Lopez retirement therefore leaving the title vacant. Or so we thought.

Arnold Barboza (28-0 10KO's) is the #1 contenter was ordered to face the #2 contenter and former unified champion Jose Ramirez (28-1 18KOs) for the vacant junior welterweight title with conditions.

Lopez, (19-1 13KOs) will have the first right to challenge the winner of Barboza-Ramirez if he changes his mind about retirement. WBO set a 24 hour deadline for Lopez to make his decision to keep his title. If he decides to retain his title he will be ordered to fight Barboza.

Undisputed Lightweight Devin Haney (30-0 15KOs) has 24 hours to activate his Super Champion Privilege to fight for the WBO Junior Welterweight title. Haney will be ordered to fight Lopez for the title or fight Barboza for the vacant title if he decides to campaign at junior welterweight.
