WBC #1 Sandor Martin Retains His Mandatory Status With a Win in Italy

Sandor Martin (41-3 14KOs) got back 8n the win column today by defeating Arblin Kaba (15-4-1 2KOs) via 6th round technical knockout in Italy. The fight was contested mostly in close quarters with Martin getting the better of the action. Martin dropped Kaba twice in the 6th round prompting a corner stoppage.


Martin 29, loss a controversial decision to Teofimo Lopez in December 2022. The WBC did not hold that loss against Martin because they ranked him at #1 and declared him to be the mandatory for Champion Regis Prograis.


Prograis 34, retained his title in June by defeating Danielito Zorrilla via split decision. Prograis-Martin will be ordered next with a possible date in the fall.
