Seniesa Estrada (25-0 9KOs) will undergo a surgical procedure to repair ligament damage on her right index finger on September 12th. Estrada has been dealing with the injury her for a while and re-aggravated the injury during camp for Leonela Yudica. Estrada defeated Yudica on July 28th by unanimous decision to retain her unified WBA & WBC titles in a highly competitive fight.
With this new setback, Estrada's dreams of becoming undisputed champion this year seems unlikely. A fight with unified WBO & IBF champion Yokasta Valle (28-2 9KOs) has been rumored to be next. Valle is set to make a defense on September 16th on a Golden Boy show. Hopefully Estrada-Valle will be finalized in the near future.
