WBO Interim Super Welterweight Champion Tim Tszyu (22-0 16KOs) will face Carlos Ocampo (35-2 23KOs) on June 18th in Australia. Tszyu wanted to keep busy while he awaits his fight with Undisputed Super Welterweight Champion Jermell Charlo. The fight with Charlo has been pushed back until the fall.
Tszyu 28, is coming off a 9th round TKO victory over former World Champion Tony Harrison. Tszyu decided to fight Harrison after the January 28th date vs Charlo was canceled due Charlo's broken left hand.
Ocampo 27, is coming off a 4th round knockout victory over Mauricio Gutierrez on March 25 in Mexico, is a durable contender at Super Welterweight. Noted for his 2 losses, Errol Spence Jr in 2018 and Sebastian Fundora 2022, Ocampo was on a 12 fight winning in between his setbacks.
The undercard will have two interesting fights. As reported previously, Sam Goodman vs Ra'eese Aleem will battle in a IBF Super Bantamweight Final Eliminator. Also Liam Wilson vs Eduardo Ramirez faceoff in a Super Featherweight contest.
Ra'eeeeeese! Guess I have to check out this Sam Goodman to see what he's working with. Hopefully Ocampo whoops Tszyu's head..
This should be a scrap
Always on point bro. I thought Zerafa would be a better choice. I think Tzuyu washes Ocampo but decent stay busy fight. Maybe he gets 3-5 rounds
