Terence Crawford Has Officially Vacated His WBO Welterweight Title; Brian Norman Jr Elevated To WBO Welterweight Champion

Terence 'Bud' Crawford (41-1 31 KO's) has officially vacated the WBO welterweight title to continue to campaign at the junior middleweights division. Crawford defeated Israil Madrimov for the WBA Super Welterweight title and the WBO junior middleweight interim title by unanimous decision on August 3rd.


Crawford 36, is now mandatory challenger for unified WBC & WBO champion Sebastian Fundora. WBO is expected to order Fundora-Crawford in the near future.


Brian Norman Jr (26-0 20KOs) takes Crawford's spot as the new WBO Welterweight Champion. Norman Jr defeated Giovanni Santillan by 10-round technical knockout to capture the WBO Welterweight interim title on May 18th. Norman Jr. next fight could be against WBO Junior Welterweight Champion Teofimo Lopez later in 2024.
