The World Boxing Association (WBA) Championships Committee has called for a Purse bid to grant the promotional rights of super lightweight world title fight between champion Rolando Romero and challenger Ohara Davies on July 24, in Panama City, Panama. The minimum bid is $110,000 with a 75/25 split in favor of the champion Romero.
Romero 27, is coming off a controversial 9th round stoppage victory over Israel Barroso for the vacant title. O'Hara Davies 31, became mandatory in March by stopping Lewis Ritson with a vicious body shot in the 9th round.
