Jessica McCaskill vs Ivana Habazin In Play for June 24th at the Hulu Theater

The long overdue Welterweight WBC mandatory fight between Unified WBC & WBA Champion Jessica McCaskill (12-3 5KOs) and former IBF Welterweight Champion Ivana Habazin (21-4 7KOs) is in play for June 24th on the Edgar Berlanga vs Jason Quigley undercard at the MSG Hulu Theater.

Originally, a purse bid held by the WBC was won by Piranha 1 LLC (Team Habazin) which offered $201,000 to beat Matchroom Boxing ($91,000) as the only other bidder. Since Piranha 1 LLC was unable to host the fight, Matchroom required the rights.

McCaskill 38, former Undisputed Welterweight Champion, is coming off a clear decision lost to Chantelle Cameron for Super Lightweight Undisputed Crown November 2022. After the lost, McCaskill was stripped of her IBF and WBO titles. Sandy Ryan recently captured the vacant WBO title with a decision win over Marie Houle last month. The IBF title remains vacant.

Habazin 33, became WBC mandatory on her birthday this past October 22nd with a decision victory over former World Champion Diana Prazak. McCaskill-Habazin winner could possibly face Ryan for the Undisputed Welterweight Crown later in the year.
